BTS ARMY FOR ADULTS
A Guide to the Fandom, Culture & Community
by Sable Jansen
BTS ARMY for Adults is the guide I wanted when I first became ARMY—not another introduction to BTS, but a way to make sense of the enormous fandom that surrounds them.
Why does ARMY say that? Where did that joke come from? What exactly is shipping, and when does it cross a line? Where can you find reliable translations, old livestreams, song information, fan projects, or BTS fashion? How do you tell seven unfamiliar faces apart when you're just starting out—and why does everyone suddenly look different after a haircut?
This book brings together the things ARMY usually learns gradually: fandom history and culture, inside jokes and traditions, community issues and etiquette, the ways fans interact with BTS and one another, and—most importantly—the resources that can help you find what you're looking for long after you've finished reading.
Written with adult fans in mind, it's meant to be both a guide through the fandom and a reference you can return to whenever you find yourself wondering, “Okay, where do I find that?”
Recommended for ages 13+. Contains thoughtful, non-graphic discussion of adult attraction, relationship dynamics, and social identity within fandom culture.

Earlier Work:
Through the Rabbit Hole: A BTS ARMY Explorer’s Guide
by S. Jane Barnes
Through the Rabbit Hole was my first exploration of BTS and ARMY, written as I was finding my own way through the fandom. What began as a guide for fellow explorers eventually grew into something much larger.
That early project became the foundation for BTS ARMY for Adults, a more comprehensive guide to the culture, community, and resources surrounding BTS and ARMY.
In a bit of creative recasting, the role of author formerly played by S. Jane Barnes is now being played by Sable Jansen.
